THESE are apple blossoms!!! There are a few trees on the front lawn of my hubby's granddad's house. I went over yesterday to snap the photos. The were alive with bees buzzing & even a hummingbird flitting around.

My BIL surprised me with these lovely tulips today for an early Mother's Day gift. It was totally unexpected. Sweet.

I woke up one morning & looked outside. These blossoms weren't there the night before. They showed up that fast! So pretty. I love it when the apple trees are blossoming.

PS: Apparently I can't tell what I have for blooming trees in my yard. My MIL just informed me that these are CHERRY blossoms....still pretty.

We went for a walk in the woods today & came across this woodpecker tree. I know, I really need to find a new hobby don't I? ::grin::

Last year my hubby put up a clothesline for me so I could hang out clothes. I spent part of last weekend cleaning out the area so I could walk around in there better. It's just a line hung between four trees that forms sort of a square. However, since it's on trees, we get a lot of insects on the clothes. While taking in my first load of freshly sun-dried laundry (love that smell!!!), I saw some sort of beetle on my son's shirt. When I did a double take, I realized it had just laid these eggs! I brought it in to show him and to take a photo. I think I was a bit more impressed than he was. :-) We are studying insects in science right now so I did think this was pretty cool.

Sundays are a bit rough on poor J. He usually naps from 12:30ish until 2:30ish. However, church starts at 10:30 & runs to noon (if they are running on time). We don't get home until 12:30-1:00 most Sundays. J is pretty tired by then. He will sometimes nap to & from but only 10-15 minutes. However, it's enough to ruin his regular nap time. Today was one of those days. He slept for about 10 minutes going & coming. I decided to let him stay up & see what happened. We were busy enough outside today that he didn't have a chance to get too cranky. I sat down on the couch around 6:00 to play on the computer & he was sitting beside me. I looked over around 7:00 & this is what I saw. ::grin:: Since it was relatively close to bedtime, I left him there for about another half-hour & then put him to bed. He slept all night. I think he's going through a growth spurt as he is falling asleep like this a lot more often.

My hubby actually took this photo. He had my camera with him all day while he was hiking. This was the view from the top. I think Annie liked it too.
