July 25

J spent most of his time at swimming lessons (he wasn't actually participating) doing this...he had so much fun. I loved how close I could get with my zoom. I'm starting to actually like this little digital camera.

July 21

How cool is this? I actually was walking around Freeport without my camera. I got up to the door & saw this & walked back to the car to get it simply to take this photo. This was just way too cool not to get a photo of it.

July 18

This was a view across the lake while my boys were in the water for lessons. I love the cloud hanging out there. I tried to get a closer shot but my camera couldn't focus on the white really well.

July 16

This little guy was waiting on the rock outside our front door when we arrived home today.

I love clouds & sky photos. Maybe I just like looking up - to my future.
Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds-- his name is the Lord-- and rejoice before him. ~Psalm 68:4

July 11

We have a lot of wild tiger lilies that grow around our house. I finally managed to get outside tonight to take some photos of some. I did absolutely no editing on this photo at all. It was near dusk - thus the shadows in the back. I used a flash. I really like how this turned out.

Next I want to say THANKS BESS!!!! :-) I gave a pitiful look & said I just HAD to have a photo for my 365 blog & she jumped right to it. Perhaps now isn't the time to mention that at this point I had probably already taken about 80 photos??? All the same, Bess - THANKS!

I should say that this is the Bess from Topsy-Turvy and Upside Down 365 blog & my friend, Deb's, oldest daughter.

Our dog, Annie, is a total love hound. She absolutely LOVES to be petted. Every single night my hubby will sit on the floor & she will jump up & come over to him. She usually lays in some odd position & he will sit & rub her belly or her ears or just pet her. She absolutely loves it. This is what they did tonight for a bit. She was in 7th heaven I think. I had to take a quick photo as she absolutely hates to have her photo taken too & will move her head so I can't get her in the picture. She definitely has a wonderful personality.

July 5

Okay, I really took this photo yesterday but I took a LOT of photos yesterday & none today - or at least none I want to post on here. Go look at my family blog to see what my boys did today.

I took this photo in the midst of my rose photo shoot. I instantly thought of the awesome shot over at Laura's 365 blog of the grasshopper on the flower. While I think her shot came out fantastic, I had to try for one of my own when I saw the chance. Although, I really don't think my little insect friend was as cooperative as her grasshopper, I am still absolutely thrilled with how well my camera did with this photo.

July 4

Can you get more "Fourth of July" than this??? Dirty faces & watermelon - can't beat that!

July 3

My MIL & went for a bike ride tonight. We left later than usual - around 7pm - and were gone just over an hour. We went a new route tonight & did just eight miles. Normally my MIL makes me go at least 10 to call it a good ride. LOL However, this road was a little more hilly than what we normally ride so we called it a good workout. :-) Oh & I did make my MIL ride circles around the parking lot of the school we parked at so that we could hit the 8 mile mark. LOL

The two photos below are of the sky that evening as we were packing up our bikes into my MIL's vehicle. The first one is taken with the "sunset" setting on my camera. I love all the blue tones. It's really neat as it reminded me of a night class I took once a few years ago about photography. It talked about how there were different "colors" that were more prominent at different times of day. When it started getting dark out - around dusk - there was more blue in the air so to speak. I never really saw it - until I took this photo.

This one was taken with just my normal point & shoot setting on the camera - to show the difference.

July 2

After 20 minutes today, I was finally able to get this shot. Still not what I was hoping for but I still like how it came out. Of course, when I was NOT ready, the wind really blew & the perfect shot was there for the taking, but I missed it.
